Cross Country Results for 2004/5
13 March 2005 - English Schools Championships, Norwich Senior Men Senior Women Intermediate Boys Intermediate Girls Junior Girls 12 February 2005 - Kent League at Tonbridge KENT LEAGUE SOMERHILL SCHOOL, TONBRIDGE. 12 FEB 2005 SENIOR WOMEN 4 BRIDGET DAVEY 20 POINTS, 2ND TEAM The final Kent League race was at Somerhill School on what looked like a sunny but windy day. Minutes into the race the heavens opened and it poured drenching everyone on the course. The undulating course was soft with only a few sticky patches which resulted in some very good performances. Bridget had an excellent race, picking her way through the field she stormed home in 4th place. Miranda hung on behind her to come in 6th. Kate moved through the field in the second half, to finish in 10th. With 20 points the team came second. Overall this season we have had 15 runners in the Kent League, and an average of 7.5 runners per race. (The extra leg always helps!) Carolyna has turned up come rain or shine to compete alongside me in every event. You can now class yourself as an "Ever-present" See Mike Peel if an explanation is needed! We have been consistently good this winter with the team results at 2nd, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd again. Our highest finishing position is held by Jennie who came in 3rd at Capstone and Danson Park. From all this hard work I would like to congratulate everyone who has competed in this seasons races. You have contributed to being in the Winning Team. We came 1st overall in the Kent League for Winter 04-05. WELL DONE. See you all soon for the Road Relays. Kate 30 January 2005 - SW Vets X-Country
27 November 2004 - Kent League Danson Park Senior Women's Results 3 Jennie Butler 23.31 3rd Team Our Senior Womens team were out in force on saturday coming in 3rd overall. Despite the good weather and flat course the ground was very sticky which led to some slower times. In spite of some pre-race nerves Jenny ran well to hold on to 3rd place, with Miranda and Fran not far behind. We saw a welcome return to the x country scene from Clare who finished comfortably in the mid-pack. Well done to all those who ran. Kate 14 November 2004 - Margate International X Country and Veteran X Country Championships Women 5.5k (70 runners overall) 3rd SW Vet 40 * Men 4h Team The course at Margate was flat and fast and made for some good times. The Senior Women's teams had a successful day in Margate coming 3rd in the vets 40, 4th in the vets overall and 5th in the senior category. This was a good result for the seniors considering the opposition included the England team and the Eastern Counties team! Well done to all those who ran, especially those who came home with medals- Annie, Anne and Allison. The Veteran Men's team also ran and came home in 4th place. Although the field was a bit thin, running alongside the senior men meant the competition was good. Run over a similar course as the senior women's, the winding, multi-lap course didn't allow for any mid-race rests, but, was good for spectating. Kate 6 November 2004 - ECCA Relays @ Mansfield Hi Guys I would like to say a massive thanks to all the Athletes that raced on Saturday at the ECCA Relays. You all ran extremely well!! In one of the most exciting races I have seen, our A team put in an outstanding performance, with good performances from our B and C teams. The A team finished in 5th position (well done lads!!!), B team in 56th and the C team in 76th in a very close and tough race. The A Team times were: 5th Place Total Time: 1:02:24 The B Team times were: 56th Place Total Time: 1:10:06 The C Team times were: 95th Place Total Time: 1:17:24 It was great once again to get a strong team out and it shows that we are going in the right way to winning again. This is going to continue and come the Southern and National CC we will be back at the top!!!!! Nick |
