On a slightly different course to last year and with
considerably better weather our Senior Women definitely left their stamp. Bryony
led the race from start to finish, eventually storming home in pole position
well clear of second and never having been challenged. Congratulations Bryony!!
Rosie and Clare made up the scoring three, and so we got
bronze medals.
Kate, Annie, and newcomer Katie Jinks, racing for the
first time, made up the scoring six, for which we got Gold medals. - Last seen
in 2005.
With the Southerns in 3 weeks, hopefully all those who
missed this one will get fit and join us at Parliament Hill to help defend our
second place from last year.
Get fit, stay fit!!
Well done.
Kate
Well done to all
those that competed on Saturday at the Kent County Championship.
We had some fantastic results across all age groups, but the performance of the
weekend must go to my Senior men's team. In one of the strongest County
Championships for years, the team performed extremely well from our first man
home through to our last man. There were some great individual performances from
Andy Rayner, James Poole and Jaime Atkinson with good back up from the rest of
the lads. This is something that we can build on for the Southerns and National
Champs later in the season.
The results were:
3 Andrew Rayner (B&B) 41:02
6 James Poole (B&B) 41:30
7 Jamie Atkinson (B&B) 41:48
15 Peter Tucker (B&B) 43:14
18 Alex Gibbins (B&B) 43:59
24 Andrew Conway (B&B) 45:08 - 2nd Team
29 David McKinlay (B&B) 45:56
30 Nick Gasson (B&B) 45:57
77 Steve Hough (B&B) 51:15
84 Richard Hall (B&B) 52:01
109 Ian Taylor (B&B) 54:06
175 Andy Edwards (B&B) 63:22
Over the next couple of days I will be informing you of
the plans for the the Southern Champs at Parliament Hill and the National Champs
at Alton Park. We will need everyone out for these two events, especially the
National, were we are looking to have a very strong team!
Look forward to seeing you all very soon.
