Supper 18 December 2019
This reads like last year and the year
before and the previous years....
The Annual Wednesday Nighters Christmas Supper was held on 18 December 2019. We had
64 members dining - the whole thing was another great success. The dress
code as usual was fancy tie and jeans.
Again Gerry did a fine job pulling it all together, and everyone
joined Jane, our new choirmistress, singing the carols with gusto.
Mike Peel was again called out of retirement to MC the show.
As in the past, before
we sat down, about 20 trained athletes ran to 'Apples' for the
traditional punch & mince pies along with a few carols - this certainly set
the scene for the night. The beer & wine flowed, everyone seem to enjoy the
traditional Christmas Dinner, the raffle and auction were well supported raising
£676. David Brooks was the winner of
the 'biggie' 300 club draw, a cool £500
