Wednesday Nighters Christmas
Supper 19 December 2018
This reads like last year and the year
before and the previous years....
The Annual Wednesday Nighters Christmas Supper was held on 19 December 2018. We had
over 50 members dining - the noise was not quite as deafening
as in the past and the whole thing was more refined and still everyone enjoyed themselves.
The dress code as usual was fancy tie and jeans,
Again Gerry did a fine job pulling it all together, and everyone
joined Jane & Ponti, singing the carols with gusto. Whilst dining we had a slide
show on the TV showing over 800 photos from previous years going back to 2005.
Mike Peel was called out of retirement to MC the show.
As in the past, before
we sat down, about 20 trained athletes ran to 'Apples' for the now
traditional punch & mince pies along with a few carols - this certainly set
the scene for the night. The beer & wine flowed, everyone seem to enjoy the
traditional Christmas Dinner, the raffle, auction & fines were well supported raising
nearly £400.
