This year the Senior Women ran out in force at the
Southerns. With 10 runners competing it was very well supported, and was a
really good team effort.
Even without a couple of our fast women the team came in
14th, one place higher than last year. Fran led the team home having a cracking
race and finishing in 59th, and excellent run form her. Bella stayed strong and
picked it up in the second lap to come in 90th. Kate just sneaked in the top
100, having chased Bella the whole way round to come in 99th.
Kirsty, who is showing promising form was fourth to count
in 112th. The rest of the seniors came in thick and fast after that, keeping in
close touch throughout the race. Our President completed the team in 182nd
despite having achilies problems.
Once again after the event those of us who are young
enough, and old enough celebrated with a few quiet drinks in Exeters town
centre!!
Thanks once again goes to all those who travelled so far
to stand around and support the runners.
See you all in Parliament Hill on Feb 25th!
Kate
Well done to all those that compete on Saturday.
Although we had a small senior men's team the guys
performed very well.
The results were:
Team position 14th
44 Alex Gibbiins
46 Jaime Atkinson
93 Peter Tucker
153 Roy Smith
170 Dave Griffin
268 Mark Ellison
338 Richard Hall
Alex and Jaime both had very good runs improving their
finishing places from last year. Hopefully we can field a larger team for the
National @ Parliament Hill.
Also as Ken Daniel doesn't know how to use his computer,
in fact I don't think he knows what one is, I will report on his Junior Men's
team. The team performed extremely well and won bronze medals!!!
Well done lads, can't wait for you all to get older and
join my team!!!
The results were:
Team Position 3rd
25 James Poole
45 Andy Conway
51 Richard Daniel
77 Dale Willis
Well done again
Nick Gasson
