respectively in the 800m.
Pedro Gleadall finished his first season in athletics
with two great medals, silver in jumping a personal best 1.45 in the high

Myles Xavier completed his great season with a bronze

It was great to see many BBHAC youngsters competing
over the weekend and these included great efforts from Phil Tenyue, Leo
McCallum and LJ Wright in the 100m.
Best turn out was in the boys 800m where Joseph
Georgiadis ran two PB's in the heat and final, along with strong runs from
Myles Duffus who came 5th in the shot , Matthew Proctor who also made his
Kent debut on the squash court this weekend and Cameron Swatton, competing
in the 1500 m as well.
Ben Gardiner had a busy day running in the 1500 m , 75
m hurdles and high jumping whilst Keir Lundy had a good run coming 5th in
the 1500 m.
Alice Prentice, Gracie Horton and Niamh Milo ensured
we had great numbers in the 1200m and Zoe Austridge gained two personal best
in reaching the final of the 70m hurdles and in the 150m
Kent U13 boys 800m
Young Peter Guy broke Steve Cavey's 10 year old U13
boy 800m record yesterday in the heats of the Kent U13 champs at Norman
Park, also setting a new Championship Best Performance.
Peter was determined to break the record having come
close earlier in the year but had gone off a little too hard in the previous
weekend National final.
Conditions weren't great as a gusty wind was blowing
but Peter went off committed and crossing the line 2:13.22 was delighted to
see he had broken the record.
Robert Suckling easily qualified for the final winning
the other heat.
The finalist only had a couple of hours to recover
before the final but recover they did and again Peter went off hard and led
from the start to take the title closely followed by "most improved U13 boy
of the season" Robert Suckling taking silver.

Kent U15 boys Pentathlon
Edward Adams won an exciting Kent pentathlon
Championship at Norman Park.
Having run a superb PB in the 1st event, the 80m
Hurdles 11.78 he then collected a new best total score of 2640 putting the
shot 11.03, long jumping a new PB 5.78, high jumping 1.64, 1 cm off his best
before running a 2:29 .78, 800m. This total places Edward 8th Nationally.
First year in the age group Henry Cowie also had a
great series of event and closed in on silver with a massive personal best
points total 2577 leaving him just outside the National top 10 in eleventh
place.
Henry equalled his best 12.9 in the hurdles, 10.10 for
the shot, 4.70 long jump, jumped a fantastic new best of 1.67 high jump
before pushing himself to a rapid 2:10 65 in the 800m beating the rest of
the field by over 13 seconds.
This sets both boys up nicely for next weekends
English schools Pentathlon finals in Boston Lincolnshire.
Good luck to both.
