On Friday 26 November 2010 the Maryon-Wilson Swimming Race
was held at Downham Baths.
Two lengths of the 25 metres
pool is more than enough for most... Very poor turn out this year meant we only
had 5 swimmers, so we only had two heats. A wide range of ages including young
Tom Dowse, an eleven year old long jumper...

In 1893 Sir Spencer Maryon-Wilson presented the
trophy to the Club for the encouragement of swimming. For last couple of
years the event has been held at Eltham baths over two lengths.  As well as the scratch race there is a
        handicap event.  All members are
encouraged to take part; any style, change of stoke allowed - you don't
even have to dive in! |
